The International Symposium on Metastable,
Mechanically Alloyed and Nanocrystalline Materials (ISMANAM
2001) will take place at the University of Michigan, Ann
Arbor, Michigan, USA, on 24-29 June 2001.
Materials classes to be covered include
metastable crystalline, quasicrystalline and amorphous
phases and various geometries and nanostructures, including
thin films, nanocrystalline materials and nanosized
particles. All the main aspects of these materials will be
covered, including synthesis, microstructure, properties and
performance. As a forum for novel ideas, the symposium is
intended to promote contact between basic reseach and
technological needs for industrial applications.
The program will include invited and
keynote lectures by internationally distinguished
scientists. Contributed papers, in either oral or poster
presentations, are welcomed. Submission of contributions
from researchers in materials science, physics, chemistry
and engineering is encouraged.
